There is no such thing as the ideal lenght of sleep as some people require 10 hours, while others considerably less. As we get older, we require less sleep. There is no danger in losing a few nights sleep. Our bodies will take the sleep it needs. Insomnia and other sleep problems can be symptoms of emotional distress, say when we are feeling low or anxious. Often our worries may keep us awake and in time it may be that worries about not getting enough sleep or not being able to fall asleep keep us awake even more!
